Youth with a mental health diagnosis are referred to NYFS through a network of Ramsey County mental health service providers. They are mateched with mentors who are aware of the diagnosis and work with the youth and their mental health care providers who are aware of the diagnosis and work with the youth and their mental health care providers to achieve mutually agreed upon goals including: better mood regulation, increased social engagement and improved academics.
